ICYMI: Female wrapped up a fantastic 45th anniversary year with a party of equal measure. Our final bash of 2019 – which coincided with the first edition of female-fronted music festival Alex Blake Charlie Sessions – was set to the sounds of Finnish electro-pop songstress Alma, British indie-pop band Kero Kero Bonito and local DJ Ginette Chittick.
Joining us at Female’s pop-up dive bar were long-time friends, collaborators and creatives: from youth collectives Youths In Balaclava and Why Not? to musicians Narelle Kheng and Shye. Set in the sleek, industrial setting of the long-dormant Pasir Panjang Power Station, the night was topped off with the thumping sounds of A/K/A Sounds, great vibes and of course, a crowd that really knows how to party.
