“At the collection’s beginning, there was a total void because we were in lockdown,” declared Nadege Vanhee-Cybulski, Hermes’ artistic director of womenswear, in the documentary Triptych by French filmmaker Sebastien Lifshitz.
The almost nine-minute film chronicles the journey the maison took to put together its Fall/Winter 2021 showcase which will air on March 6 at 9:30 pm Singapore time.
“We weren’t thinking of creating, we were all so astonished to be cooped up at home, with the virus’ arrival. [But] I soon realised it was important to continue creating,” added Vanhee-Cybulski, who described the process of putting together a collection in the middle of a pandemic like being a “creative hermit” .
The result is something quite special: the presentation will be live-streamed from three various locations around the world at the same time and staged at New York’s Park Avenue Armory, Paris’ La Garde Republicaine and Shanghai’s Maison Hermes flgaship, which is an early 20th-century conservation brick building.
As part of the experience, FEMALE has been invited to view the live event at a Shanghai-themed private dining session. Do check our Instagram Story for scenes from that event and catch the show by watching the presentation above.
