What’s the mark of a style icon? To paraphrase the house of Prada, which launches its second interpretation of Adidas Originals’ Superstar sneakers as part of its ongoing partnership with the athletic brand on Sep 8: “When a timeless item does not call for re-design, but rather provokes reconsideration.”

The Prada logo and “Made In Italy” labels are prominently stamped on the shoes.

How it’s now “reconsidered” the famous kicks after adding to it both collaborator’s logos and the words “Made In Italy” hot-stamped onto the sides last year: By remaking te same in full-grain leather in the new colourways of monochrome black, white and black, or white and chrome silver – and nothing more.

Does that answer the question?

The Prada For Adidas retails at $700 each and will be available from Prada’s boutiques at Ion Orchard and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
