It’s no secret that the late Diana Spencer’s influence on fashion has transcended the ’80s. For Tory Burch’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection, the American designer takes cues from a time dubbed ‘the optimistic decade’ – Princess Diana’s style included. And while we have seen interpretations of Princess Diana’s ’80s off-duty style as of late, Burch’s take on the era is a little different.

Think: feminine and delicate as seen in the silhouettes, prints, colours as well as the accessories that pepper the collection. Inspired by English garden flowers in particular, Burch experiments with her nostalgia in more ways that one. From embroidered florals on bags and larger blooms on balloon-sleeved dresses to bustiers and sheer maxis, the collection serves up all of Tory Burch’s signature class but with an added sense of whimsy and wonder.

In tandem with our upcoming ‘Everything Is Possible’ March 2020 issue (expect an entire book full of happy people and things) we have come up with a video that spotlights the joyous collection. Who says clothes can’t make you happy?
