The first time that we saw models carrying these wicker baskets on the runway at the Gucci F/W ’17 show, we thought they were picnic baskets used as props. But with most things that Alessandro Michele do and touch, you never quite know what to expect. After all, this is the guy who hides a Jane Austen book in some of Gucci’s Bamboo bags this season. We soon learnt they are actual commercial pieces at the press run-through a few days after the show.
