Singapore retailers are not the only splashing out on limited-edition anniversary pieces for our nation’s birthday. Swiss-based Lebanese jeweller Mouawad is also celebrating 125 years in the business crafting and acquiring some of the biggest and rarest diamonds in the jewellery scene. After all, not many brands can attest to clinching a Guinness World Record for the most valuable necklace – an internally flawless deep yellow diamond weighing 407.48 carats, suspended on a 18K rose gold necklace with 228.52 carats of diamonds.
While the anniversary pieces are not as lavish, they still reflect the brand’s knack for flamboyance. How: The signature 18K white gold Flower of Eternity necklaces with its petal-like pendants are given an Andy Warhol treatment, thanks to the poppy-coloured gemstones like tsavorites and sapphires that are set in an ombre effect (from $3,500). Why you’d want them: They are pieces you’d wear day in and day out, making it a timeless style to own.
