While it may be difficult to look past Aloysius Pang’s cherubic face, the former child actor and current Channel 8 star approaches his craft with a seriousness that belies his youth. “I watch practically every movie that’s out there, but it’s not for enjoyment – it’s homework. I pay attention to why the actors pang moved a certain way or why the director took that shot. I have to watch a movie two or three times to really get it,” shares the 25-year-old.
Currently filming upcoming nursing series You Can Be An Angel 2, Pang hopes to continue working on scripts that spread awareness about disabilities in Singapore. “Based on my looks, I’m often cast as a geek or a rebellious child, but I hope to play an autistic character some day. I studied the condition for an audition but it didn’t work out with that movie, so I hope to land a similar role eventually.”
And that’s not all he’s working towards. “When my friends and I started our first jobs, we made it our goal to own a Tudor some day. Two of them have achieved that goal,” he says. “I find the Heritage Black Bay Dark mesmerising and it suits my largely black wardrobe.”
