The very idea of juggling work and new parenthood conjures up images of a messy, time-starved life, but Bella Koh’s Instagram feed shows it can be surprisingly serene. The founder of online lifestyle store Flea & Trees and food stylist for The Lo & Behold Group is a self-taught whiz behind the lens, with more than 73,000 Instagram followers cooing over her impossibly perfect food and baby pictures.
Having decided that the corporate life wasn’t for her, she made a conscious decision to take things slow. “The slow life is about treasuring the things you wanted to do but never had the time for,” she says. These days, that time also goes into taking care of her seven-month-old daughter, Alessandra, who eats as well as Koh’s photos suggest. “I’m very serious about eating well, and I think it’s important for her to explore food at a young age,” she adds. “Breakfast can be something simple like bananas and avocados. Some couscous for lunch, followed by a Japanese-style dinner of yams in dashi stock or steamed eggs.”
Given how hectic her average day can be, Koh admits she usually sticks with just one ticker that will go with any outfit, such as the Heritage Black Bay Blue. “Masculine styles feel empowering, and I like that spirit in a watch.”
