The Baby-G watch is a major #throwback to our childhood days – almost everyone owned one in the ’90s. Celebrities like Rihanna also sported this model in her music video for the song “Rude Boy”. But if these aren’t enough to convince you to own one, its latest iteration – a collaboration with Sanrio – just might.

The limited edition Hello Kitty G-Shock resin timepiece ($249) retains the edgy vibe of the brand’s BA-120 series. Its design – black scrawls set against a pristine white for the straps and watch face – takes inspiration from street graffiti art in the ’70s, which was also when the character was first created.

The hour and minute hands come with red-tipped highlights, a nod to the red bow the character is never seen without. And there’s even an engraving of Hello Kitty on the back of the watch face.

The watch launches this Saturday, Dec 10 at G-Factory Vivocity (#02-61) and a pop-up store at Bugis (located along Bugis Junction Malay Street opposite InterContinental Hotel). Stay ahead of the game and reserve yours on the G-Factory mobile app from today, Dec 7.
