French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton is launching its first #MakeAPromise day on Thursday, January 12 in partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to help raise funds for the world’s most vulnerable children in need.
The storied fashion house first started working with the United Nations programme last January, and helped raise US$2.5 million (S$36 million) to aid humanitarian support for children living in conflict and war in Syria and Nigeria.
To continue their pledge to help the charity raise funds for children in need, the brand has designed the Silver Lockit collection, which comprises a necklace and a bracelet. For every piece sold, Louis Vuitton will make a donation of US$200 (S$288) to UNICEF.
The hashtag serves as a call to action too: Take a photo of you and a friend making a pinky promise (like the photo above) and tag your image with it on Instagram to show your support for the campaign. Shopping for a good cause? We’re down with it.
