Those who have been to Melbourne will know it’s a haven for serious caffeine addicts – the Australian city is often voted best in the world for coffee and having lived there for a couple of years, I can attest that it’s almost impossible to get a bad cuppa (unless it’s from a vending machine) and they’re often cheaper than Starbucks at AUD$3-4 a cup. Newsflash – Starbucks doesn’t do well over there – why would it, when there are so many great cafes around?
You’ll be glad to know that speciality coffee beans e-tailer Cafebond is collaborating with Italian coffee machine brand De’Longhi and Harvey Norman’s flagship store at Millenia Walk for Singapore’s first ever Melbourne café street pop-up. Taking place at Millenia Walk’s atrium from now till next Monday 22nd May, three of the city’s most famous cafes – St.Ali, Market Lane and Industry Beans will be doling out their artisanal coffee – for free – from 11am-5pm daily.
So head down there this weekend and grab a free cuppa and while you’re at it, discover the rest of each cafe’s premium coffee machines and special coffee beans. Just be prepared for queues – though we imagine it would be a more comfortable affair than the recent Artbox Singapore, given the air-conditioned space.
