Enjoy cocktails blended with local exotic ingredients at the gentlemen-style bar. It concocts its own spirits using lemongrass as well as ginger orange, star anise and sugar cane, which are soaked in dark rum. Our happy hour recommendation: the robust cardamom- and camomile-infused gin blended with aged sherry.
EAT
Start the day at the resort’s main restaurant The Dining Room with a detoxifying shot of jamu, a traditional tonic made from spices and root vegetables, prepped and served by a local villager. Meanwhile, Swedish executive chef Peter Marx is behind the eclectic on-site menu that ranges from comforting Indonesian cuisine to Instagram-worthy molecular dishes. To complete your meal, the Decanter room serves 400 labels of old and new world wines, as well cured Italian meats, caviar, chocolates and cheeses.
RELAX
Besides 21 black and white bungalows, there are seven Thai-themed villas, each furnished with plush four-post beds, high ceilings, and baths overlooking private gardens. For extra zen, try the massage with warm Javanese volcanic stones at the spa.
