#1: Its name has interesting origins.

Founded by Italian brothers Marco and Vanni Marchi in 1995 in Capri, Italy, the brand name is an amalgamation of two nicknames. “Jo” is a moniker that Marco Marchi’s then-girlfriend gave him, while his pet name for her was “Liu”.

#2: There are multiple lines for every occasion.

Its Black Label line ($49-$879), comprising pieces such as printed blazers and flattering A-line dresses, transition well from the office to evening. The Gold Label ($89-$989) is suitable for all your party needs, with glittering cocktail frocks and floor-skimming dresses.

For more casual weekend looks, the White Label ($69-$599) carries easy pieces like striped tees and loose, flowing dresses. There’s also the Blue Denim Label ($69-$529), which utilises the brand’s bi-stretch fibre technology to create jeans that are figure-hugging and comfortable.

#3: A slew of famous faces have graced their campaigns.

Its latest Spring Summer 2017 campaign, titled #strongtogether, celebrates the friendship of supermodels Martha Hunt and Jasmine Tookes, while its Fall Winter 2016 campaign featured It girls Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss, with the latter currently the face of the brand’s Bottom Up jeans collection. The brand also counts American actress/model Dree Hemingway as well as iconic model Kate Moss.

#4: It opened a 3,305 sq ft-wide flagship store in Paragon last year.

The fashion brand retails in more then 50 countries worldwide, including right here in Singapore. Late last year, it opened its Southeast Asia flagship boutique at Paragon, retailing its ready-to-wear and accessories collections, including selections from Liu Jo Sport, Les Plumes de Liu Jo, Liu Jo Shoes, as well as Liu Jo Fragrances.

#5: Its Spring Summer 2017 collection is all about easy elegance.

Now available in stores, the Spring Summer 2017 collection ranges from pieces that are great for layering (leather vests, embroidered military jackets) and more feminine looks (midi lace dresses, semi-sheer skirts. Accessories ($59-$299), too, convey the same breezy, laidback approach – there are lace-up sandals and wedges alongside studded denim baseball caps, striped shoulder bags, and bucket bags.
