Sohee Park, the rising 25-year-old London-based South Korean designer, recent Central Saint Martins graduate and Instagram fashion darling behind the label Miss Sohee has found fans in daring style stars such as Lalisa Manoban, Ariana Grande, Gemma Chan and Cardi B.
Apparently, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are Stans of her dramatic demi-couture designs too. In fact, the duo behind Dolce & Gabbana will be teaming up with Park to present her first Fashion Week runway show during the Fall/Winter 2022 season in Milan this coming February.
Sculptural gowns with long trains, caged crinolines and embellished flowers have come to define the Sohee Park aesthetic.
According to a statement from Dolce & Gabbana, the Italian designers’ support and guidance for Park boils down to how her artisanal craftsmanship and study of shapes and volume resonate with their own “aesthetic and creative approach”. Prior to starting her label last year while in lockdown, Park had interned at brands such as Marc Jacobs and Molly Goddard.
Park stated in a statement: “I’m truly excited to see my creative vision finally come to life. I am extremely grateful to Domenico and Stefano for their generous support and for this unique opportunity. Knowing that I can count on them and that they encourage my creativity is a real honour.”
