We List The Prettiest (And Most Affordable) Eyeshadow Palettes To Get Now

A good eyeshadow palette can do wonders – you can create endless looks, use some shades as a contour or highlight, or even use it to fill in your brows, draw your eyeliner or conceal your blemishes and dark undereye circles. A truly multi-functional product, and one you should not live without.

We List The Prettiest (And Most Affordable) Eyeshadow Palettes To Get Now
#1: Etude House Play Color Eyes In The Café, $35.90

At this price, this is a steal for ten different colours. All the shades have a warm tone inspired by the enchanting colour of roasted coffee. With varying textures, this versatile palette is good for everyday – a more neutral look can be created for the day, while a smoky, dark brown look can be donned for the night. The palette comes with an applicator tip; use the wider surface to spread the chosen base colour onto eyelids, and then use the narrower surface to apply other shades for gradation, eye edges, or as an eyeliner on your lash line.

#2: Sephora Collection Miniature Eyeshadow Palette, $22, Sephora

If you need something handy that you can bring along when you travel, or as a compact and efficient touch-up on-the-go for busy days, then this mini eyeshadow palette is perfect. With six easy-to-wear shades to play with, this universal palette is flattering on just about any skin tone. It’s multi-functional too – we imagine that the shimmery silvery shade can be used as a highlighter, while the pretty pink colour can double up as blush. Bonus points for the beginners: the palette contains a simple tutorial to get you started.

#3: Laneige Marine Girl Boy Eyeshadow Palette, $57

Well, it’s summertime, and it can’t really get more summer-y than this. This palette is cutely packaged like a striped T-shirt, which totally gives us a lazy-day-on-the-French-Riveria vibes. There are six highly pigmented – and interestingly named – colourways, with three blue shades (Hyams Beach, Boracay Emerald, Summer Serenity) and three pink shades (Singapore Sling Pink, Rose Salt Recipe, Hanoi Bouquet). Enclosed with a brush and tip applicator, this is an all-round winning palette to bring on your beach vacay.

#4: Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow Palette, US$39 (S$53), www.net-a-porter.com

Sometimes, we just need one single palette that has all the colours we need to bring us from the weekday to the weekend. This palette with its eight curated shades does just that. There’s three neutral, matte colours that are great basics for an understated look. Complementing that is four shimmery shades that will work well for a more dressed-up look. If you fancy a fierce, smoky eye, the glittery black colour will serve you well. Everything is housed in a convenient and slim case – with a mirror – that you can carry everywhere easily.

#5: 3INA The Eyeshadow Palette, $33
image

Ever since this London-based brand burst onto our local makeup scene late last year with its flagship store at ION Orchard, it has been slowly and steadily gathering loyal fans. Priding itself on its affordable price points without sacrificing on quality, the brand (pronounced ‘mee-nah’, by the way) is well-known for its eyeshadows. The eyeshadow palette is a favourite – pictured here is the limited edition 105 with a set of six party-ready shades. There are four other palettes available (100-103) in a variety of colourways.

#6: Silkygirl Truly Nude Eye Shadow Palette, $15.90
image

If you are really tight on budget, this classic and versatile palette will do just fine. The fragrance-free, paraben-free and oil-free formula promises to glide on softly and smoothly, adhering well to your eyelids while lasting all day. With two different palettes to choose from, go for 01 Earthy (pictured) if you would like neutral matte and shimmery shades that would work well for everyday. Otherwise, opt for 02 Blossom if you want more fun, bold and dramatic colours that will make you stand out.

#7: Zoeva Aristo Eyeshadow Palette, $39, Sephora

This beautiful palette contains ten super rich shades inspired by Mother Nature. Housed in a sleek and classic black and gold case that would look great on your vanity, the ten different and lavish colours are wildly different, allowing you to create endless looks. There are the earthy browns and neutral nudes that will work well as bases. Follow up on that with the shimmery fiery red, the cool teal blue or the bright mustard yellow. Remember to apply after primer, and blend fully with an eyeshadow brush.

#8: Maybelline 24K Gold Nude Palette, $26.90
image

This luxurious eyeshadow palette is not one for the faint of heart. With twelve hues, the colours are infused with metallic gold pigments for a dramatic finish. There are the essential, shimmering nude shades, as well as darker black and gunmetal tones that will come in handy for the evening. Play around with the pretty pink, gold and rust-coloured shades to create a multitude of different looks. The palette also comes with a useful and practical tip applicator and a mirror.

#9: By Terry Eye Designer Palette, US$50 (S$68), www.net-a-porter.com
image

Promising not to crease or fade, this limited edition palette, called ‘Forest Desire’, contains a set of six cool-toned shadows. The formula is made from finely milled powders, which allows the shadows to contain fine, rich pigments that are long-wearing. The colours range from a light ivory (great as a highlighter) to muted greens to a cool denim-blue. If you prefer a warmer palette, there’s also the ‘Gem Experience’ palette that has six shimmery jewel-toned shadows including neutral beige and deep purple hues.

#10: The Body Shop Down To Earth Eye Palette, $52.90
image

One good thing about this earthy-toned palette is that each individual shade is able to click in and out of the casing, which allows you to switch shades between palettes and quads to create your very own ideal eyeshadow palette. The eight hues feature three different finishes, namely mattes, shimmers and sparkles, so you can mix-and-match depending on the occasion. Blend dry as usual, or if you want a more intense colour payoff, blend wet, which can aid in creating sharper and more defined lines and strokes.
