Food and shopping go hand-in-hand and where there’s an array of designer brands to shop at, chic dining spots are a natural fit.
ION Orchard has always been our go-to spot for some retail therapy, thanks to its varied but on-point curation of brands like Gentle Monster, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Sephora, Dior, Giuseppe Zanotti and In Good Company. And now till 28 July 2019, its fifth edition of Culinary Creations brings together exclusive collaborations and promotions with some of our favourite foodie brands: Awfully Chocolate, Yoko Moku, Henri Charpentier and Bake Cheese Tart. If that isn’t enough variety for you, Cookie Mixx, Jumbo Seafood and Nara Thai are part of the mix too.
Here’s a teaser of what to expect and more importantly, what to try.
Awfully Chocolate
Available only in July, in celebration of ION Orchard’s 10th anniversary, Awfully Chocolate has created ‘A Decade of Wonders’ chocolate bar made of 10 symbolic ingredients – including dried raisins, pistachios and hazelnuts.
TWG Tea Salon & Boutique
Pop in and try not to have too many of TWG’s limited-edition Passion Fruit Tea-infused macaron ($2 per piece) laced with warm caramel almond shells dusted with cocoa powder. Have a heart and leave behind some for your fellow shoppers.
Yoku Moku
We’re all nuts about Japanese confectionery and in celebration of it’s 50th anniversary, Yoku Moku will sell special commemorative 50th Anniversary Revival Tins featuring the brand’s popular cigare cookies as well as the macadamia cool and orne amande classic cookies. A one-box assortment will retail at $48 in July while a two-box assortment will retail at $78 in August.
Henri Charpentier
Let them eat cake – and so they shall. Chef Christophe Felde has created a celebratory three-tier cake ($88) topped with decadent macarons to mark ION’s tenth birthday. Sold only on weekends till 28 July, you’ll want to get that order in ASAP.
1872 Clipper Tea Co.
Shopping can be tiring business so drop in for a thirst quencher at 1872 Clipper Tea Co. They’ve created a Longan Paradise Tea Mocktail ($7.50), a mixture of the brand’s in-house tea blend with longans and mint, which if you download the ION Orchard mobile app, offers a 1-for-1 deal (limited to the first 100 redemptions) so your shopping buddy isn’t left out.
The Grande Whisky Collection
There’s always more to learn about this amber nectar. Join the Whisky x Museum Night Tour ($79) on 11 July from 6.30pm-8.30pm for a special tour of the brand’s whisky museum, accompanied by three whisky tastings and complimentary cold cut bites.
