These Are The New Local Fashion Brands We're Loving

Want to support “Made In Singapore” initiatives? Here are the new kids on the block you need to know.

Whether you prefer buying from small businesses to support individuals with a passion for fashion, or reject mass-market designs and the concept of fast-fashion, there’s something for everyone in this edit of the latest brands to launch in Singapore.

#1: Rye

Rib knits, pinafore jumpsuits, circle skirts, and tailored pants, these minimalist designs are great to mix and match — perfect if you don’t want to waste time on planning your outfit in the morning.

#2: Thyine

With ruffles, draping and unique fabrics, Thyine injects work-ready pieces with a bit of fun. Look out for reversible drawstring dresses and asymmetrical layered skirts that’ll help you achieve a polished look that’s still hip and interesting.

#3: Camira Asrori

This fashion label that focuses on resortwear, with bold and graphic pieces perfect for our humid climate. We love these high-waisted shorts and cute ruffled top from the label’s Festival Edit.

#4: A.oei studio

Founded by Seattle-based designer Angeline Oei, the clothes are produced in Singapore and America and feature abstract shapes, prints and textures. This statement top can be worn with black culottes to work, and with a lace skirt on the weekend.

#5: Esse

Derived from Latin, Esse means “existence”, a word that invites us to be aware and discerning. That’s the philosophy of the brand — to create timeless designs made from sustainable materials. Made from organic cotton in a gorgeous shades, their fluid pieces are soft, billowy, and full of movement.

#6: Faire Leather

Combining tradition and technology, the Faire Leather Co. is co-owned by Tocco Toscano — a leather goods label with over 30 years of history in the industry — and the Y Ventures Group, a data analysis-driven ecommerce retailer and distributor recently listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Part of the most-funded kickstarter campaign in Singapore, this briefcase was designed for the guy on the go who needs to stay organized.
