It would not be a Gucci collaboration if the collection does not include a big dose of nostalgia. Cue the Italian house’s fondness for retro references for its various capsule lines featuring our favourite childhood cartoon characters like Doraemon, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and vintage inspirations such as the floral prints of ’70s fashion designer Ken Scott.
Needless to say, the Italian house’s upcoming collaboration with South Korean heartthrob and EXO member Kai includes a favourite companion he grew up with – the classic teddy bear.

Launching on April 17 at Gucci’s Ion Orchard store, the collection features a selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories with an adorable decorative motif of a teddy bear wearing a blue bow tie.

The advertising campaign is equally adorable. Envisioned by Alessandro Michele, and executed by South Korean photographer Min Hyunwoo and filmmaker Woogie Kim, it follows Kai on an adventure around Seoul with his longtime teddy bear pal.
Gucci will also be putting up a larger-than-life Bear Balloon art installation created by Seoul-based pop artist IM Jibin to celebrate the launch of the line that will be placed in different locales worldwide.
Ahead, we highlight some of the pieces that are up for grabs.
