The star ingredient of this is sustainably sourced lotus. The entire lotus plant is used to create the moisturiser, and any by-products are planted back into the soil to help maintain ecological balance and leave minimal environmental impact. This lightweight, anti-ageing cream helps to neutralise free radical damage, combat visible signs of ageing and calm inflammation.

Shiseido Global Suncare The Perfect Protector SPF50+/PA++++, $65

This not only shields your skin from harmful UV rays, it also protects the environment. Its water-resistant formula means less product is washed off when you’re at the beach so it doesn’t enter the ocean. The outer carton is also made with 100 per cent recycled paper, while paper information insert usually included has been removed to cut down on waste.

Dior Capture Totale C.E.L.L Energy range, $82 - $265

All the products in this skin-energising anti-ageing line contain at least 84 per cent natural ingredients. The outside packaging for the collection is made with recyclable paper, and their sizes have been reduced to achieve a 25 per cent decrease in cardboard weight. The bottles are made exclusively from recyclable glass, while the ink used is of plant origin.

RE:ERTH

This local brand is all about sustainability, collaborating with Environmental Solutions (Asia) to turn trash into treasure. This initiative uses a unique chemical recycling process that is done locally to reduce carbon costs, and allows for the mixed plastic packaging to be recycled in its current form, without needing to be washed, dismantled or cleaned. The plastic is then converted to a form of fuel this is non-fossil derived. This truly green solution will produce carbon credits that can be used to offset carbon emissions from logistics, operations, transport and more.

Kora Organics

All of the products in supermodel Miranda Kerr’s beauty brand are COSMOS-certified organic and made without any sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, T.E.A., D.E.A., Glycols, Silicones, PEGS, Ethoxylate, Formaldehyde or Formaldehyde derivatives. Each product is also cruelty free, not tested on animals and free of any added herbicides or pesticides. A cult favourites we love is the Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum ($89), which helps to smooth fine lines, treat pigmentation and protect against free radical damage.

This plant-based skincare brand is focused on creating a positive impact on the environment and your skin. Based in New York City, it only uses natural ingredients sourced from native soil to craft its products. The process allows these ecosystems to thrive without unnecessary intervention. The high-powered formulas are mindfully extracted and housed in repurposable glass vessels with FSC-certified recycled paper boxes.
